Both the Luxsin X8 and X9 use the AP6256 Wi-Fi module—a mature and widely adopted solution found in many embedded and consumer devices.
A Reliable Foundation
The AP6256 is a proven platform. However, unlike fully open-source solutions, its driver is maintained by the chipset vendor. This means improvements and optimizations are developed in collaboration with the vendor, often based on real-world user feedback.
What Affects Wi-Fi Performance
Wi-Fi performance isn’t determined by a single factor. It can vary depending on:
-
Router configuration
-
Channel selection
-
Signal environment
-
Network security settings
Because of this, different setups may lead to different results.
Recommended Router Settings
For the best compatibility, we recommend using the following Wi-Fi channels:
2.4 GHz
Channel 1, 6, or 11
5 GHz
Channel 36, 40, 44, or 48
These channels avoid DFS ranges and generally provide more stable connections across devices.
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
If you experience Wi-Fi connection issues, a few simple steps can help identify the cause:
1. Test with a mobile hotspot
Connect your X8/X9 to a phone hotspot first.
If it works normally, the device itself is likely not the issue.
2. Adjust router security settings
Try setting your router to:
-
WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode, or
-
WPA2 only
Some devices may have limited compatibility with certain security configurations.
3. Try different bands or channels
Switch between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, or adjust the channel settings as recommended above.
