Understanding Luxsin Loudness feature: Smarter Listening at Any Volume

When listening at lower volumes, our ears naturally perceive less bass and treble. This is not a flaw in your system—it’s how human hearing works. To address this, Luxsin has developed an advanced Loudness feature designed to preserve tonal balance and musical detail, even at reduced listening levels.

Built on ISO 226:2003 Equal-Loudness Contours

The Luxsin Loudness algorithm is based on the internationally recognized ISO 226:2003 equal-loudness contours, calibrated at 80 phon.

This standard models how human hearing sensitivity changes across different frequencies and volume levels, allowing the X8 to compensate intelligently—restoring perceived bass depth and treble clarity when listening at lower volumes.

For those interested in the technical standard, you can explore it here:

Smart Threshold Control

Unlike traditional loudness implementations, Luxsin provides a customizable Threshold setting for greater control.

This allows you to define exactly when the Loudness function becomes active:

  • For example, if the Threshold is set to -20 dB,

the Loudness feature will only engage when the volume is below -20 dB

  • When listening above this level, the Loudness effect is automatically bypassed

This ensures that the sound remains clean and uncolored at higher volumes, while still benefiting from compensation when needed.

Fine-Tune Your Sound: Bass & Treble Adjustment

With Loudness enabled, you still retain full control over your sound signature.

Dedicated Bass and Treble adjustments allow you to:

  • Add more warmth or low-end weight

  • Enhance clarity and high-frequency detail

  • Tailor the listening experience to your personal taste

This combination of intelligent compensation and manual control gives you both accuracy and flexibility.

Designed for Real-World Listening

The Luxsin Loudness feature is not just about boosting frequencies—it’s about preserving the natural balance of music across different listening conditions.

Whether you’re listening late at night or at lower volumes during work, X8 ensures your music remains full, engaging, and true to its original character.
